Drop-In Pet Sitting for Salem and Keizer, Oregon
What's next?
Please fill out the form on the Contact Us page. That sends us the basic information we need to contact you to schedule your complimentary Meet & Greet. The Meet & Greet allows all of us to make sure we are a good fit for the pet care services you need.
What makes you the best choice in pet sitters?
Communication and professionalism. I am combining my life-long love of animals, clinical experience, deep compassion and strong organizational skills to care for your pets and home while you are away. My Kritter Sittter LLC is a licensed and insured business to give you peace of mind. We utilize integrated software and an App for ease of communication and scheduling. Our App provides a full report card, complete with pictures, after each and every visit to your home. We believe caring for you pet is every bit as important as caring for our own.
How do I pay?
We prefer payment through Zelle or checks. Zelle is on nearly all bank Apps and does not charge any fees to either of us. At this time we do not require prepayment for scheduled visits. We do offer other payment options and this can be discussed at our Meet & Greet.
How do you help my cat(s) with stress when I am gone?
This is very important to us when caring for your cats! The short answer is play, play and play with them as much as we can and we have more information we will share with you at our Meet & Greet!
Do you board our pets or can you stay overnight in my home?
We do not offer either of these services. We are not set up, or insured, to provide boarding in our own homes. We believe to remain the best in our business it is important we practice a healthy work/life balance. We both have family and pets of our own. We are our best selves when we get family time and sleep in our own beds.
How do Drop-in visits work with dogs?
We love dogs! We believe dogs need a minimum of 3 visits per day with one of those being a bedtime visit around 9pm. As we don't provide late evening visits we are simply not a viable option to adequately care for most puppers during your travel. If your dog has safe access to a secure backyard through a doggy door for potty needs and would do well with just two visits per day then we would be happy to assist you. We are open to discussing your dog's specific needs for pet care during your travel. However, we will not commit to caring for a pet if we cannot provide appropriate care that enhances their lives.
Will my house key be safe?
Being from a law enforcement family I can assure you that your key is kept safely locked inside a key safe, inside a locked and alarmed home and each key is labeled with a code that does not include any clearly identifiable information on the tags. We prefer the keys to remain on file with us for any future scheduling requests and will be returned if deactivating your account. If you prefer to keep your own keys we will accept using your personal lockbox that is to be made safely accessible during our scheduled visits.
Why is there an App for this?
I provide the App to make scheduling visits the easiest part of your plans! You will be emailed an invitational link to create your profile within Scout for Pet Owners App. After setting up your profile, if you are not comfortable with using Apps, you can utilize emails and/or texts to provide us your travel dates and we will schedule them for you. 971-341-4380
What about weather emergencies or travel snafu's?
During all scheduled visits we ask that you provide an emergency contact that lives nearby your home that could help feed/medicate in a "pinch" situation. They will need to know they are being listed and have the ability to access your home in the event of a significant weather challenge. If there are significant storms in the forecast we also provide pets with an extra 1/4 helping of food and an extra dish of water...for that "just in case" scenario and may run on a delayed start for morning visits to allow the roads to clear off a bit.
You are closed on Christmas...what do we do?
Christmas 2023 was the first day we have ever closed. In this type of business our entire schedule is literally created by everyone else's travel plans so this means we literally work 364 days per year! Closing on Christmas 2023 was a difficult decision not made lightly. How did it work? We fed extra on Christmas Eve and visited earlier on the day after Christmas and all the pets were well for the pets in our care! If your pet is not able to handle a shift in meal times we will create a a single-day agreement and allow shared-care with another person of your choosing. We thank you for understanding and working with us on this very special day we want to spend with our family.
